Common Causes of Nasal Obstruction
Do you suffer from difficulty breathing, chronic congestion, or a nasally voice? These can all be symptoms of nasal obstruction. Nasal obstruction is a persistent issue that can affect your entire life, making it more challenging to work out or get a good night's sleep. There are numerous causes of nasal obstruction, including allergies, nasal polyps, a deviated septum, and more, so it's crucial to speak to a specialist for treatment. We will diagnose the issue and provide you with a personal care plan, which may include surgical solutions, allergy management, and more.

Understanding Sinusitis
Your sinuses are hollow spaces in the bone around the forehead, nose, eyes, and cheeks. They serve multiple purposes, including mucus production, filtration, and more. However, they can also become infected with a virus. The body reacts to the virus by swelling and increasing mucus production, which leads to a stuffy nose, pain or pressure in the face or head, long-lasting cold symptoms, and more. If these conditions don't improve within 10 days of getting sick, sinusitis may be the cause. However, sometimes, the exact cause of sinusitis cannot be determined.
Different Types of Sinusitis
Acute Sinusitis
Acute sinusitis lasts less than four weeks and is caused by viruses, bacteria, or allergies. Symptoms include congestion, facial pain, and thick nasal discharge.
Subacute Sinusitis
Subacute sinusitis lasts 4-12 weeks and is often caused by bacterial infections or lingering inflammation. It shares similar symptoms with acute sinusitis, such as congestion and facial pain.
Chronic Sinusitis
Chronic sinusitis lasts more than 12 weeks and is often caused by allergies, nasal polyps, or structural issues. Symptoms include congestion, mucus buildup, and a reduced sense of smell.
Recurrent Sinusitis
Recurrent sinusitis involves three to four episodes yearly. It is typically caused by repeated infections or anatomical issues affecting the sinuses.
Allergic Fungal Sinusitis (AFS)
Allergic Fungal Sinusitis (AFS) is a chronic allergic reaction to fungi. It is characterized by symptoms such as dark mucus, congestion, and facial pressure.
